Prince of Peace Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry at Prince of Peace seeks to connect our young people in an exciting way to their faith community and to the Church as a whole. We meet year round for overnight retreats at the parish, discussion nights, service projects, movie nights, Bible study, and social events; all centered around Christ and His Mission.
Youth ministry meetings are always teen friendly and teach the young person to take their world as a teenager and integrate it into their faith as a Catholic. It is a time to meet and become close friends with teens from other schools and different ages.
Recognizing that teens are busy people and sometimes school, sports, and other activities are part of their lives, it is perfectly fine for the teen to be part of the group for only certain periods of the year. Many teens that participate in sports or theatre productions are away from the group during their season and then return when their season is completed.
Teens participate in the life of the parish in many other ways such as Teen Choir and Catechist helpers. Even though they do not attend weekly meetings, these teens are participating in youth ministry by giving of their time and talent.
As a group we also have gone on various trips to National Conferences in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Houston, and Kansas City. We also traveled to World Youth Days in Toronto and Germany.
This coming summer, we will be having two summer mission trips; one for junior high and the other for senior high. Watch the Sunday Bulletin for details on the trips. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Deacon Jim Minor at the parish office.
